We are a non-profit community club that belongs to a 75-year-old organisation – Toastmasters International – which has 211,000+ members world wide, and 5,000+ members in Australia. Like all other Toastmasters clubs, our mission is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every individual member has the opportunity to develop oral communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.
Through participation and completion of the Competent Communication and Competent Leadership programs many members have literally “found they have a magnificent voice” and improved their self confidence through public speaking. On top of that, CHINGLISH Bilingual Toastmasters Club promotes mutual understanding of English and Chinese language and culture through sharing and learning from each other.
Our meetings are conducted in English and Mandarin Chinese. It would be great if you speak both languages, but if you don’t, that’s fine. Our members can present speeches and complete projects from both the English & Chinese version of the Competent Communication and Competent Leadership Manuals.
Our meetings offer you the chance to practice public speaking in both English and Chinese, and learn more about the cultures.
Visitors are welcome any time, and can attend their first two meeting for free!
Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month at Mosaic Multicultural Center, 12 Brown Street, Chatswood.
Meetings start at 6:30pm. Should you stick around afterwards, please join us for a casual dinner at a local eatery!
